I attended the validator basics workshop with two colleagues before our company delegated a small treasury allocation. The epoch timeline exercise made the activation delay click — we had been staring at an empty rewards column for days thinking something was broken.
— Rachel Chen, Glasgow, Validator Basics Workshop, March 2026
Booked the clinic because I could not wrap my head around commission versus actual returns. Eleanor walked through three validators on screen and showed how uptime mattered more than a low commission number. Straightforward and patient.
— David Okoro, London, Staking Concepts Clinic, June 2026
Our Edinburgh meetup hosted a group session for fourteen people. James adjusted the pace when half the room had never staked before. The handouts were well organised — several members said they kept the glossary on their fridge.
— Margaret Innes, Organiser, Edinburgh SOL Study Circle, April 2026
The reference library is useful for revisiting epoch charts between sessions. I do wish the inflation chart updated more frequently, but the quarterly refresh is noted in the materials so I knew what to expect.

Extended case: Perth small business treasury

A local design studio with four partners held SOL in a shared wallet and wanted to delegate but disagreed on validator selection criteria. They booked a private Validator Basics Workshop at our New Row space in January 2026.

During the session, each partner completed the validator evaluation worksheet independently, then compared results in a moderated discussion. The group identified that they weighted commission differently — one partner prioritised lowest fees, another prioritised published infrastructure details.

By the end of the four-hour workshop, the team agreed on a shared checklist and understood that their delegation would activate at the next epoch boundary. They followed up with a clinic two weeks later to clarify unstaking timelines for one partner who needed short-term liquidity flexibility.

The studio reported that having a structured process prevented the circular debates they had been having in Slack for months. They did not ask us to execute any transactions — the session was purely educational.
